Astrology

This Full Moon in Sagittarius is forming a trine with Mars in Leo and Chiron in Aries. This Grand Fire Trine fills the sky with intentionality and motivation to release what no longer serves, not through destruction but through transmutation. In this way that which is released ignites the spark of what’s meant to be.

Simultaneously, we have Jupiter (ruler of Sag and so, of this Moon) having recently ingress into Cancer where Jupiter is exalted and now forming a conjunction with Mercury. Pay attention to the opportunities Jupiter is already presenting and utilize Mercury as the Messenger to bring forth and send out the good news of what can expand under this year long transit. Check you house placement, any planets in Cancer, and any aspects to build an awareness of what potential may come your way. Saturn- the planet of limitations, boundaries, time, and structure meanwhile is squaring Jupiter and Mars. So too is Neptune- planet of dreams, watery depths of subconscious and intuition, deception/illusion, and visions…. So what systems and organization, delays or challenges create a tension to you receiving Jupiter’s gifts? Who or what may be getting in your way? Who or what is telling you ‘no’? Where have you not shown up to complete what needs completing? What denial deludes your senses and clouds your vision or tricks your intuition into choosing the ‘wrong’ dream? What practices of avoidance to you engage in? Without judgement, reflect on these questions as you guard against any whisper of a Neptunian fog that seeks to keep you drunk on self criticisms. A square is tense for sure but it is also sometimes the exact discomfort we need to force our growth and Saturn loves that sort of method. A method that as Ruler of Time he has developed ensuring that the challenges we choose to take on will allow for our expansion if we stay the course. Check the Aries sector of your chart.

And finally, we have the Moon and Sun squared by the Nodes in Virgo and Pisces. What point of fate is asking for release (check the Virgo sector of your chart) and what point are we hungering towards (check the Pisces sector of your chart). What resists this release and what prevents satiation of this hunger?

Tarot

Choose 3 cards for each question.

  1. What should I focus on releasing under this Full Moon?

  2. What practices will inspire me in my daily life to take action where I need to?

  3. What belief holds me back the most?

  4. What new belief can I cultivate to align with the actions that are in my highest good?

Meditative journaling

With Mars and Chiron involved in this Grand Fire Trine there is potential to ask where our old and layered wounds ask us to act. We carry our wounded-ness not as a victim within this Fire Trine but rather as an internal compass that points us to the places we must act.

How and where are my wounds compelling me to act?

Focus on this prompt as you practice box breathing for 5-15 minutes. Inhaling for a count of 4-8, breath retention for the same count, exhale for the same count, hold, then inhale again, etc.

Then journal these questions:

  1. Mars in Leo: What relationships, habits, beliefs, etc. need severing (Mars) so that I can become my own authority (Leo) on how I want to show up in the world?

  2. Chiron in Aries: How do wounds from my past both show me the Warrior I am called to be AND make timid my efforts to step into the Warrior I am meant to embody?

  3. Moon in Sagittarius: What new affirming belief can I form and utilize as a mantra any time I begin to engage in limiting story-lines or fail to surrender what no longer serves my path ahead?

SPELL

Keeping in mind the information you’ve gathered from the Astrology of the moment, your tarot pulls, and what may have come up during mediation and journaling: write down what you would like to release under this Full Moon. Pull cards to inquire both what you need to know about the release and to also divine if it is appropriate to enact this release at this time. Once you’ve compiled your list, burn the paper paying attention to how the flame eats what you are releasing for additional information (how quickly does it burn, what direction does the flame point, the color of the smoke, etc.). Collect the remaining ashes and bury them with any other objects such as herbs, crystals, items from nature, etc you feel called to add. Once buried, seal the spell by pouring water over the area you have buried. You may also like to lay a candle overtop your ‘burial site’ to charge under the full moon. Using this candle to then light for future wishes, mediative scrying, etc that aids in the areas this Fire Trine is attempting to ignite.
